What's it weigh?

If you travel, lighter and thinner are always better. For home use, bigger screen and heavier load is more acceptable.

Do I need Wi-Fi?

The beauty of a portable computer is that it can go anywhere, so make sure it can get Net access where you take it. Make sure Wi-Fi is on board.

What drives do I need?

CD-RW/DVD drives are good for burning CDs and watching movies. Floppy drives are out, but USB key drives are a good substitute.
